Celtic Skipper To Join Ipswich?

Celtic captain Stephen McManus has been linked with a switch to the Blues once again.

But the link appears to be nothing more than speculation because McManus is currently in the Celtic team, so former Ipswich defender Tony Mowbray, of course who is in charge at Parkhead, will probably be unwilling to let McManus leave.

Besides, the defender himself rejected a move to Portman Road when linked previously.

Town boss Roy Keane has already suffered a triple defensive blow this week - Gareth McAuley is out for a fortnight with a thigh strain, while Stoke reportedly rejected a loan bid for two of their defenders.

I don't think Mowbury will stand in his way after his terrible last man tackle on Hearts Midfielder Driver, What a shocker of a tackle. He had no intention or chance of getting the ball. The Ref gave a yellow at first but the assistant was closer and after consultation changed it to a red.....He got his just desserts in my opinion ..

I've watched McManus for a few years now and frankly, I don't care who he is linked with, just as long as he goes to someone. He is the worst central defender Celtic have had in a very long time. He should never have been made captain, one of Strachans brain-waves, and never be a regular.Having said that if someone wants him, please feel free. I will even give him a letter of reference to any future employer and a glowing one at that.

Thanks but no thanks WeeTim67, my heart would be in my mouth watching him in Towns defence every week.....Our defence is creaky enough as it is.
