Ipswich Hunting For Haroun

Ipswich Hunting For Haroun

Ipswich Town are understood to be targeting Belgian central midfielder Faris Haroun, currently at Germinal Beerschot.

Haroun, who has been capped six times by the Belgium national side, has scored 24 goals in three seasons since joining Germinal Beerschot in 2008. The Jupiler Pro League club are currently in financial difficulty and could well be looking to cash in on the 25-year-old, who is thought to be one of their top wage earners.

Ipswich are known to be scouting in Belgium this summer and are reported to be leading the chase for Haroun, who is attracting interest from across Europe. Fellow Jupiler Pro League side Zulte Waregem have been linked, whilst German clubs FC Koln and VFL Bochum are also said to be interested.

Centre midfield is currently one of the priority areas for improvement for Ipswich boss Paul Jewell in the transfer market this summer. The Blues look likely to miss out on a permanent deal for Jimmy Bullard, who was reportedly in talks with QPR on Thursday, whilst the loss of David Norris has further weakened the heart of the Town team.
