Pro Deals For Cody And Cormac

Ipswich Town academy goalkeeper Cody Cropper and midfielder Cormac Burke have both signed one year professional deals with the club.

Both players, who are older than their fellow second year scholars, confirmed the news via their Twitter accounts. Burke, 17, is a Northern Ireland U19 international, whilst 18-year-old Cropper has been called up again for the USA U20 squad ahead of the Milk Cup later this month.

Cropper and Burke are the latest young talents to join the senior side. Another academy player, 17-year-old defender Joe Whight, also signed his first professional deal earlier in the month having been included on the first team bench several times last season.

Well done to these lads and Whight. Seems there is a good young crop coming through these days, so hope they can get a chance at first team action in the near future!
