Holland And Connor In McCarthy's Dream Team

Matt Holland will make up part of Mick McCarthy's back room staff as Ipswich look to get out of the relegation zone before starting to challenge for promotion.

Holland, who has been enjoying a career in the media since packing up playing, has also been working on his coaching badges.

The former Town skipper led the Blues to promotion to the Premier League and into Europe during a stint whch saw him play 321 times, a a large part of that in an unbroken run.

He worked with McCarthy in the Republic of Ireland squad, scoring a cracker in the 2002 World Cup which famously saw Roy Keane, who flopped at Town, walk out of the national squad.

McCarthy's record for getting teams up is not too shabby either and has led Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves to the Championsip play-offs during his managerial career.

Former Wolves manager Terry Connor returns with McCarthy as first team coach.
