Reo-Coker Blasts Ipswich Defenders

Reo-Coker Blasts Ipswich Defenders

Nigel Reo-Coker, who hardly covered himself in glory during the 5-0 hammering by Palace last night, rounded on his team-mates following the result telling the media he has not come to Portman Road to be made a fool of.

Reo-Coker told the club website among others: "The goals we conceded were embarrassing. That`s not the level we are at - and that`s not Championship level.

'I have made it very clear in the dressing room that this will never happen again'

'They didn`t have to work hard at all to get the goals, we gifted them five through lazy defending and no will-to-win.

"We should all be embarrassed about it. You don`t concede three penalties in a game, not at this level."

Ipswich fans saw their side humiliated once again by a decent Palace side and Mick McCarthy is now beginning to see how deep the rot has set in.

A shot-shy attack, a lethargic midfielder and calamitous defending contributed to yet another heavy defeat.

Reo-Coker added: "This is not about management, new or old - I think that`s just an easy cop-out for some players.

"This is about the players, they need to stand up as men and be counted. It is about having desire and working hard and we did not work hard enough.

"Today is the bottom line - this is where it stops. I haven`t come here to be made to look like a fool. As long as I am here, it`s not going to happen again."

As long as he is here...

as you say, IF he was putting in a shift he would maybe have the right to have a go at others, but if he isn't doing much himself, then how dare he turn on the rest of the team!?
