Blues Sign Defender

Ipswich Town have swooped to sign 19-year-old defender Tyrone Mings from non-league Chippenham Town.

An undisclosed fee has been agreed to bring in the versatile 6ft 3in Mings, after he played for the the Blues on Monday in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

A statement on the club website claimed he would be 'available for selection immediately', once the relevant paperwork has been processed.

Mings began his career alongside Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Southampton's youth team before going to Yate Town and then Chippenham and is the son of Chelsea scout Adie Mings.
