McCarthy In A Spin Over DJ Return

DJ Campbell plays in what is very probably his last game for Ipswich against Brighton.

Harry Redknapp wants Campbell, who has scored 10 goals in 16 games during his loan spell with Town, to return to QPR and resume training with them on Thursday.

Blues boss Mick Mccarthy has responded philospohically, although he would love to see the striker back at Portman Road.

McCarthy told the club website: "I have spoken to Harry and he justifiably wants to have a look at him so DJ will be going back to QPR.

"We will have to wait and see what develops from there. I have spoken to DJ. He is enjoying it here and we want to keep him. I have offered him what amounts to a permanent deal and hopefully something can be sorted out.

"I know there are other clubs that are keen on him as well though. It will be down to what QPR and DJ want to do in the end.

"It will be the last appearance of his loan tomorrow, let`s hope he marks it by scoring the winner."

DJ goes with Ipswich fans' highest regards and it would be great to see him back but we are not holding our breath.

Ouch Would loved to have had him play against Villa in the cup game, but alas HR needs to give him a chance to help pull QPR out of the mess they are in at the bottom of the Prem...What about Leigh Griffiths of Hibs as a replacement. Mick let him out on loan from his tenure at Wolves, they dont want him back. He has scored 14 goals in 20 matches including the winner against Celtic at the weekend. He is small but terrier like in front of goal. Any others come to mind?
