Dyer Funds Blues Trip To Barcelona

Kieron Dyer may have had a humiliating 4-0 thrashing on his Middlesbrough debut but it has not stopped him backing the young Blues.

Dyer, who already sponsors the Ipswich Under-16s side has also dipped into his own pocket to pay for the under-13s to travel to barceloan and play in a mini-tournamnt ove rthere.

The midfielder, who is reportedly on a £10,000-a-game deal with Boro, was left feeling red-faced as his promotion-chasing new club were hammered by relegation-battling Blues.

"Ipswich took us by surprise," Dyer told the Daily Star. "Although they have plenty of good players, for us to lose 4-0 was especially hard.

"This is the worst place for me to get a hammering like that because this is still my home town and my mum still lives here so it was pretty humiliating.

"In fairness, the Ipswich crowd has been so special for me down the years, but you can imagine the grief I will get."

Don't worry Kieron - you are still a legend here.
