Town Close In On Grant

Town Close In On Grant

The Blues are set to win the battle to sign Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Joel Grant.

Grant is out of contract at Adams Park and even though Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth has offered him a new deal the player is ready to move on.

Pompey boss Steve Allen admitted he was keen to sign Grant but even though Town's budget is low it is better than the south coast's club and so is not likely to tempt the midfielder.

Mick McCarthy looks set to add Grant to his midfield next week.
