Important Point For Murphy

Goal scorer Daryl Murphy has said he believes that our point against Nottingham Forest last weekend was a very good point for the club as we continue to push for a play off spot this season.

The Republic of Ireland international headed home a Frank Nouble cross to level the scores for us and it proved to be enough for Ipswich to take a point from the game having been behind for the majority of the game.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Murphy said that not only was it an important point for us, but he felt the least we deserved from the match was a share of the spoils as he feels a draw was the right result overall.

'First half they dominated but we were the better side in the second half. We came flying out of the blocks and certainly took the game to them, which resulted in a deserved equaliser.'

As for his equalising goal he admits that he didn't really know too much about it as he just saw the cross from Frank coming towards him and he managed to get his head on it, but took a knock in the process, so only knew it had gone in when he heard the crowd roar.

After that he knows we had other chances to win the game as well, but taking seven points from three games is a good reward for a week and had we taken all three points he feels that Forest could've felt very hard done by, as again he feels a draw was about right given both teams performances over the 90 minutes.
