Officials - Ipswich v Fulham (26/8/17)

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Ipswich Town and Fulham this Saturday.

Ipswich Town host Fulham on Saturday August 26 for the game at Portman Road and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Paul Tierney
Assistant Refs: Mark Scholes and Sian Massey-Ellis
Fourth Official: Andy Davies

Match Day referee Tierney has officiated one game in 2017/18, showing two yellow cards.

He took in 32 games in 2016/17, with a return of 110 yellow cards and five red cards.

His highest card count that season was seven yellows and one red in the game between Swindon and Oxford. He also showed seven yellows in the game between Newcastle United and Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day.

He took in 42 matches in 2015/16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 118 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers on August 28 with a total of eight yellows being shown and one red card.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.

With a few exceptions I never mind who the ref and his assistants ( linesmen ) are.So long as the ref reads the game correctly, remains completely impartial and does not get card happy, allows the game to flow then fine, this ref and his assistants will do fine.....
