Ipswich Town vs. Birmingham City

Blues Look To Batter Brummies

Although they still have one game away, Ipswich look to finish the Portman Road season in style.
Another clean sheet against the Brummies will be priority, but a few goals, as they have done recently will not go amiss as Town look to build for another year in the Championship.

Vital Quotes:

Manager Mick McCarthy told the club website: "We`ve got a chance to put the season to bed tomorrow and a point will do it for us.
"But of course we want to win. We go into every game looking to win and that will be the best way to secure our place in the division for next season, winning in front of our own fans."

Ipswich Town Team News:

Town are likely to be unchanged from the team which drew at Sheffield Wednesday.
Richard Stearman is the only slight doubt after picking up a hamstring strain so Elliott Hewitt could go in at right-back. Lee Martin is fully fit after missing the last few weeks with illness and an ankle injury.

Birmingham City Team News:

A solitary strike from DJ Campbell secured all three points for Town at St Andrews that day, with Blues now needing just a point to secure Championship survival ahead of the Midlanders` visit to Portman Road.

"Yes Birmingham away was my first match in charge and it was an important game for us, as is this one," Mick told the Club website.

"You only get one first impression and the lads worked really hard that day and it got us off to a good start.

"But of course we want to win. We go into every game looking to win and that will be the best way to secure our place in the division for next season, winning in front of our own fans."

Team news

Mick McCarthy should have a full strength squad to choose from for Town`s final home game of the season, with the exception of long-term injury victim Paul Taylor. Loanee Richard Stearman is unlikely to be risked though, having injured his hamstring during the weekend`s draw at Sheffield Wednesday. Elliott Hewitt is likely to take his place at right-back. Lee Martin is fully fit after missing the last few weeks with illness and an ankle injury.
Wes Thomas and Morgaro Gomis are both doubts, after forward Thomas picked up an ankle injury and and midfielder Gomis missed the win over Leeds with a groin problem.
