Daryl Murphy had already nodded wide a good chance when he got on the end of Carlos Edwards` cross from the right with a stooping header to steer home past Tomasz Kuszczak after 27 minutes.

Kuszczak, who Ipswich missed out on in the summer, had to save with his feet in the first minute of the second half as Murphy hit a first-time shot from Michael Chopra`s pass.

It looked like it was the Blues' night until the 79th minute when sub Will Buckley managed to force home an Inigo Calderon cross,
