Ipswich Cock It Up Big Style
Sunday, September 22
Attendance: Not that many
Football, for all its complexities surrounding it, is a simple game.
When your defenders defend, your goalscorers score, amn the players in bewteen do their job properly then you wins games - simple as that.
When your front men can't hit abrd door with a banjo, and no can anyone else on your side, and the men charged with defending the goal, and that includes the keeper, make errors schoolboys would be embarrassed at, then you will lose - simple as that.
Ipswich's failure to stick the spherical object into the onion bag hurt them as poor defending cost them two goals scored, somewhat ironically, by Ryan Shotton and Nick Powell, two players Town have tried to sign in the past.
Wigan also squandered chances, and some of Town's efforts were not so much missed as well saved by Scott Carson, offers some crumbs of comfort. But not nearly enough as Ipswich's away record now borders on the ridiculously woeful.
