Blues Smash And Grab

Ipswich Town
2 - 1
Huddersfield Town

Portman Road

December 7

Attendance: 15,363

Referee:

Former Celtic striker Daryl Murphy showed Hoops target James Vaughan how it should be done, by scoring the Tractor Boys` winner.

Vaughan, is a target for Celtic boss Neil Lennon, had a penalty saved by Dean Gerken midway through the first half, and that proved costly.

The Terriers went in front through Danny Ward in the 35th minute, after an Adam Hammill cut back was touched on by Vaughan to the left-footed midfielder.

David McGoldrick, who played for Huddersfield boss Mark Robbins at Coventry, struck six minutes after the break.

Jonathan Hogg gifted the ball to Cole Skuse who swiftly fed McGoldrick who banged in his eighth of the campaign.

Murphy nodded in two minutes from time after a poor clearance by Anthony Gerrard from an Aaron Cresswell free kick.
The SpuerBlues have now grabbed 13 points from a losing position and are now on the shoulder of the play-off places.
