Blues Blow It At Preston

Although Ipswich took the lead, and looked as if they could progress in the FA Cup they managed to blow it.

Frank Nouble gave Town the lead but Preston hit back and substitute Joel Garner stung Mick McCarthy's underachievers with the old one-two.

David McGoldrick snatched a late leveller and extra time loomed until Garner completed his hat-trick to win the tie and earn a trip to Nottingham Forest.

Ipswich can focus on getting their league campaign back on track but the amount of goals they have been shipping of late will be a concern.
