Referee:

Ipswich showed the battling qualities, that we'll need to show this season, on Tuesday night as we secured a point at St Andrew's.

Not once, but twice, Birmingham City led us on Tuesday but twice, including an injury-time leveller, we battled back to come away with a point in the 2-2 draw.

Plenty of effort were tried on the night, but less than a third of them actually ended up on target but I supposed technically from those on target the accuracy in that department was good as around 50% of them resulted in goals!

Birmingham 'keeper Darren Randolph saved well, from one of those efforts on target, to deny Daryl Murphy giving us a lead with Lee Novak finishing poorly after Dean Gerken's mistake.

The breakthrough came from David Edgar (30) when he headed David Cotterill's corner, having been left unmarked, with that goal sending the home side into the break one-nil up.

We were level soon after the restart as Christophe Berra (50) nodded home a Paul Anderson's freekick, but parity wasn't the case for long as Clayton Donaldson (63) soon got onto the end of a Wes Thomas pass to restore the home sides lead.

The most effective attacking option, so far this season, has looked like being Berra (90) and it was the Scottish international that fired home an equaliser in the third minute of injury-time, getting on the end of an Anderson pass again, to earn us a two-two draw.

A point extends our unbeaten run at St Andrew's to six game.
