Heartbreak for U18's in FAYC

Heartbreak for U18's in FAYC
Nearly 2,000 Town fans witnessed the Blues come back from two goals down to take the game into the added thirty minutes, but Sordell dashed the home side's hopes of progressing with a well-taken third in the second period of extra-time.

In just the third minute, Hornets player Mingoia crossed the ball in and Sordell flicked the ball past Lewis Ward in the Town goal to give the away side the advantage.

There was a bit of controversy in the 20th minute, as Lewis Dunbar's effort appeared to cross the line as Ipswich looked to draw level, but the linesman failed to signal for a goal.

Ten minutes after the break, Sordell double his side's lead and his on personal tally with a deft chip. Defender Jack Ainsley was then sent up-front as the home side looked to stay in the competition.

Ronan Murray made the game interesting as he headed in an Ainsley cross, before centre-back got himself on the scoresheet following good work from young starlet Connor Wickham.

However, Sordell punished Town's slack defending as he rounded Ward in goal for the Blues, and the sliding the ball home, leaving Ipswich's U18's heartbroken.
