It's less than a month until the new season begins, but will Ipswich Town be ready in time? That's what Vital Ipswich has been asking you this week.

Preparations have been under way at Portman Road for some time with Paul Jewell plotting a promotion push for the Blues in 2011/12. Indeed, Town have been one of the Championship's busiest clubs in the transfer market so far; boss Jewell made his fifth signing of the summer this weekend with the capture of midfielder Lee Bowyer, who joins fellow new arrivals Michael Chopra, Ivar Ingimarsson, Nathan Ellington and Aaron Cresswell. More look likely to follow, but with many more positions yet to be filled, will the Blues have everything in place by 6 August?

Asked if you felt confident that Ipswich would be ready for the new season, here's what you had to say:

62% - Yes
25% - No
13% - Not sure yet

Clearly most fans have been impressed by the recent level of transfer activity at Portman Road, with 62% now saying that they are hopeful of the Blues being sufficiently prepared for the new campaign. A quarter remain sceptical though, no doubt due to the sheer amount of work that is still left to be done to fill the gap left by the loss of 13 players so far this summer.

Nonetheless, the results are significantly more positive than they were a month ago. An identical poll in early June found that over half of respondents were concerned about Town's pre-season preparations. At that time, the Blues had yet to make a single signing, though the flurry of activity since then has clearly had a major impact on fans' perceptions. Even so, Jewell's new side are set to be tested over the coming weeks as Ipswich enter their pre-season campaign, and that could go some way to revealing whether or not they are on the right track ahead of another challenging season of Championship football.

This week's poll: 'Are you happy about the signing of Lee Bowyer?' (See right-hand column to view the list and place your vote)

What have you made of Ipswich Town's close-season activity so far? Are you confident that we will be ready in time, or are you still concerned that there is much work to be done? What do you think of the team that Jewell is putting together? Share your views using the comment box below.
