Now Town Must Try To Kick On Again

Now Town Must Try To Kick On Again
I think I speak for most people when I say I hate these international breaks.

They really are disruptive and they happen far too often for my liking these days.

After two important victories after a period of under-achievement, we now have to wait until the 21st of November to continue where we left off and I just hope we can continue with our new found winning streak!

First up is Wolves, who are currently five points behind us in the Sky Bet Championship - having had what can only be described as an indifferent start to their campaign.

That tells us very little though because they have the potential to rise rapidly and we must make the most of our more recent revival and try to take all three points having dropped far too many at home so far.

Three points at home would obviously be our aim and if we succeed, then that would be nine points from our last three encounters and surely a rise up the table in the process!

Everything in this league though is about the big 'if' but I would have much preferred us to have played this one within a week of our last victory and the only consolation perhaps is that Teddy Bishop and Luke Hyam have more recovery time.

But international games often come at another price. Key players can get injured and I just hope that having found some form and goals at long last, Daryl Murphy stays injury free, the same applies to fringe players such as Tommy Oar who will be representing Australia.

After Wolves, we have Charlton Athletic away one week later, before Middlesborough at home at the beginning of December which will be a very big ask.

We play a lot of games between now and Christmas and only then will I look at the table and give serious thought to what the future may hold for the Tractor Boys this season?

The league is full of surprises week in, week out and along with some new found form, we could really do with the rub of the green as well as we attempt to make up for the ground lost on the leading pack.

After our great display against Rotherham United however, I have renewed hope that we could eventually turn things around because now our strike force are starting to find the net.

If Sears starts scoring again and Pitman and Murphy continue to find the net as well, then we could really take some stopping because remember goals generally win games and get you promoted in the process!

It is a long hard season as we know and we are but a third of the way through it so let us hope it is onward and upward from now on folks!
